Description

GUESS WHO IT IS.

"...It was already one in the morning; the rain pattered dismally against the panes, and my candle was nearly burnt out, when, by the glimmer of the half-extinguished light, I saw the dull yellow eye of the creature open; it breathed hard, and a convulsive motion agitated its limbs.

"How can I describe my emotions at this catastrophe, or how delineate the wretch whom with such infinite pains and care I had endeavoured to form? His limbs were in proportion, and I had selected his features as beautiful. Beautiful! Great God! His yellow skin scarcely covered the work of muscles and arteries beneath; his hair was of a lustrous black, and flowing; his teeth of a pearly whiteness; but these luxuriances only formed a more horrid contrast with his watery eyes, that seemed almost of the same colour as the dun-white sockets in which they were set, his shrivelled complexion and straight black lips."

--Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley

ohhhhohohHO! :evillaugh: i wonder how many of you had a suspicion! (yes, zhe, i know XD)

it's a little-known fact that of the hundreds (really) of books that i've devoured, Frankenstein is my ultimate favourite. i first read it maybe... ten years ago? and since then i've developed a PROFOUND HATRED for the hollywood version of the creature. seriously. boris karloff, i'm sorry, but whale and florey ruined frankenstein's story. completely RUINED it. stupid directors, those men were. guh. whale and florey ALSO mixed up the first names of frankenstein and his best friend, so we got victor clerval and HENRY FRANKENSTEIN. what an impressive name. *cough*

anyway. that rant's over.

another factoid: i love frankenstein's creation. read the book and you'll notice how A) intelligent, B) compassionate, C) emotional, D) hopeful, E) innocent, F) calculating he is. i mean, come on. he only wanted love! even at the very end, he acknowledges frankenstein as his father. *weeping*

oh, and did you know: frankenstein's creation spoke FRENCH. as in HE LEARNED IT. FRENCH. not a word of english. FRENCH.

for all you monster afficionados, hope you enjoy it

In honesty, the novel version of the monster would EASILY get laid nowadays. Even I had a crush on this fucker when I was like, 11. Frankenstein could only use "big" parts becuase small parts where difficult to use. ;)
